Patient Information About your neurological consultation Our neurologist will evaluate the patient’s condition to assess for neurological problems to determine whether additional testing and/or treatment will be needed. Our assessment and recommendations will be forwarded to the patient’s regular treating physician(s) to determine how best to incorporate our information into the patient’s care. If appropriate, a follow-up visit and/or the recommended test(s) will be scheduled at the end of the visit. Subsequent questions by telephone or letter will be addressed by the patient’s neurologist who will usually have his/her office assistant contact the patient or family. If the patient’s neurologist is unavailable to address a problem in a timely manner, the question may be referred to the patient’s regular treating physician or the neurologist on call. If one of our patients is admitted to a local hospital and requires neurological assessment, the admitting physician will contact the Neurology Associates’ physician who is on call. Arrangements for post hospital care with the patient’s original neurologist will be initiated as needed. Please note that as a result of these policies, patients may possibly receive neurological care from any of our neurologists. Medical record questions should be addressed to the Medical Records departments for proper handling. HIPAA and Medicare guidelines are enforced. Neurology Associates’ Notice of Privacy Practices is available for review upon request . >About your neurological consultation |
